Personal Comfort or God's Glory?

For the month of June I am reading the book: "Draw the Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge"

If we are being completely honest, most of our prayers have as their chief objective our own personal comfort rather than God’s glory. We want to pray away every problem, but those shortsighted prayers would short-circuit God’s perfect plan. There are seasons and situations when we need to simply pray through

  2. I read this part 3 times, took a mental note and copied it down. I mean this was one of those aha moments. I want you to think about things you may be currently praying would go away that God may actually want you to go through so that HE can have all the glory so that YOU can have a testimony. Is it a bad financial period? Is it an intense business decision? Is it a health challenge? Ask God to show you and he will.God may be trying to grow us but we are so focused on changing our circumstances! So while sometimes we do need to pray "Get me out prayers," we also need to pray "Get me through" prayers and we need to pray to God to be bale to determine which one to pray.
  3. Do yourself a favor and get this book. It's only day 4 and I love this book so much already that I ordered the one for Kids as well! #LifeChanging
